I don't actually know if this is a male or female, but a couple Sundays ago on the way back to Toolik from a BEAUTIFUL hike (which I will post a slew of pictures of tomorrow), we saw a grizzly! Our guess is that it is only a few years old. Not a particularly big one, but it wandered closer and closer to us, so that it was very good and necessary that we were inside a vehicle. Finally, right after the video I took below ends, it seemed to finally get a whiff of our stinky, alarming, human scent and BOLTED back up the mountainside. It was at least a quarter-mile away and still going when we finally restarted the engine and continued on our way.
