Aufeis, final

I know I've posted before about the aufeis (here), but just have to wrap it up documenting my third (and probably final?) trip out there, now that the spring melt has subsided enough that it's possible to walk upstream and through the remaining walls of ice around the melted/collapsed area cut by the stream.

Pretty. Darn. Pretty.

Evening walk

 The mosquitoes are out now, but with an evening breeze to keep them at bay, a walk to the Toolik Lake outlet area is still a thing of beauty.

More small wonders
